origins rebrand + e-commerce
This project aimed to develop a comprehensive redesign based on intuitive research of a brand and its intended audience in order to improve everyday life by conceiving an innovative product. Origins was the first brand within the beauty industry to design a cosmetic container recycling program. With this information in mind, the innovative product combines sustainability with functionality to develop a reusable silicone sheet mask that can be paired alongside a serum and facial roller for maximum results and a boost in sales.
Founded in 1990 by Leonard Lauder for the Estee Lauder Company, Origins is a skincare, makeup and bath & body company created to respect both the well-being of one’s skin and the planet. With this new, minimal approach, Origins can now truly stand out amongst a “culture of excess.” The tagline and brand pillar “Powered by Nature. Proven by Science.” continues to represent the company’s core values, but is now paired with sleek, modern branding to match. The willowherb icon not only represents a common ingredient in Origin’s millennial-targeted skincare line, but it is also the first plant to bloom after a natural disaster, perfectly encapsulating the nature of this rebrand.
